Useful?

I got bored this evening and decided to play with photoshop for a few minutes. Then an idea hit me. Why not find one image and see how many ways you can use it in a way that will prove logical.

So, I took the flea that I have on my website and did a little tooling around with it and came up with something i feel is kind snazzy. Plus, it's use would be kind of practical if my color scheme was like this.

i have no plans on using this anytime soon, but if someone wants the psd, i could make it available. It's nothing complicated. Just blending and hue adjustments and a bevel here and there.

yep, pretty cool, but gotta say I like the one on your site better.

How did you achieve those squares??

its actually a dingbat font, its one frame of a oldtime movie film strip, I just typed out a bunch of them and
moved them up, then looped them to make it look like
a filmstrip.
Then added some scratches and dust effect.

It looks alot better on a black background.

nah, i think he was asking Oblivious.
My guess is that he used the mosaic filter. I've seen some tutorial on how to do that.

Yep it would be a filter. It is a cool effect.

yeah, you run the mosaic filter, then sharpen 3-4 times, then colorize it..
