screen tones? As in, percentages of a color? (ie. 10% black ) In "RGB" I usually just lower the opacity and use a white layer under it. In CMYK and GRAYSCALE I usually go to the color picker and specify a percentage of the color with the text imput for the appropriate color model. |

I think what he is referring to is the comic book pop-art style effect, with halftone dots and everything. It's real easy to accomplish, but requires a bit of experimentation to get the look you're shooting for. I can think of 2 different ways to approach this: Basically, take your image and posterize it (Image>Adjust>Posterize) to flatten out the tones a bit. Then Filter>Pixelate>Halftone Pattern and see what comes out of that. Or, make a copy of your image. Convert it to grayscale. THen convert it to Bitmap mode. Under the Method dropdown box, select Half-tone screen and click ok. Then you can select various options regarding how the dots should be arranged, their size, shape, etc. Then convert this image back to grayscale, then to RGB when you're satsified with the results. Pull this layer over to your original RGB image. And then play with blending modes until your satisfied with the results. |

I'm looking to fill areas with it. Colored and black and white. Perhaps a filter some where? Or should I just create a pattern fill?
