I have a folder of actions in photoshop that I have created over the past few months. I want to transfer them to another machine, but I can't find where they are located. I searched for files with the .atn extention, but the only ones that showed up were ones like text effects and default actions. How can I locate the actions I created?

Did you create you actions with-in the "default" or "text effects" .atn file?

See, actions you create are saved into .atn files..... several actions per .atn.... they are like action "packages"

The "action" itself isn't an .atn file....

does that make sense?

Open photoshop..... look in the actions pallet....

tip:
you can "drag and drop" actions to move them to a new "action package" (.atn)

That makes sense. But..

I did not create them within 'default' or 'text effects' or any of those. I made a folder called 'Andy Actions' that has all of my actions. I thought that it would make a .atn file for that folder that would have all of my actions in it, but i can't find it. Why can't I find it?

hmmmm, I'm not sure then.... is the folder (Andy Actions) in the actions pallet... visible to you from within Photoshop?

Have you searched the machine for "actions" to see if maybe it is somewhere other than in the Photoshop directory hierarchy?

The folder 'Andy Actions' is visible in photoshop. I clicked on the create new set icon, named it 'Andy Actions' and started adding them in there. I have searched the computer for andy, action, actions, *.atn, and none of them will bring it up. I know that it has to be somewhere because it does exist. I am going crazy trying to find it. Do you have your own set of actions on your computer? Where do they appear if you create a new set?
