Splashing & Spraying Water Hey does anyone out there know a technique for making splashing and spraying water? I have some dolphins that are leaping out of the water and I need to make it look real with them splashing and spraying water but everything I have tried looks fake. If anyone out there knows a secret I would REALLY LOVE to hear it!! |

This is how I make spaying water: First create a new layer for the spray. Select white as your foreground colour. Now choose a big fat brush with soft edges. Make a stroke with the brush. As soon as you release the stroke, press ctrl+shift+f (Fade) and set mode to DISSOLVE and lower the opacity to make more space between the "particles" in the spray. Press OK. Then apply Gaussian Blur. Play with the amount of Gaussian Blur to get the effect you want. To get a more realistic effect in the end you can change the opacity of the layer to make it blend into the layers beneath it. |
