Manipulation Of Slices In Imageready

Is there any possible way to make it so a link doesn't work until the link button is visible. If you saw my Site Sketch post in the Showcase you would know. I'm having buttons move and I don't want you to be able to click where they end up until the button actually gets there. Basically I want to know if there is a way to make a linked slice not work until the image gets there? Sounds impossible doesn't it?

I'm sure it could be scripted. I just dont know how to do it.
