hi dvdvault,

3.5mm translates to 14 pt.

It's virtually rule-of-thumb — 1mm=4pt (approx).

To get another color for the border/outline:

• first rasterize the type (Layer menu > Rasterize > Type).

• Ctrl/Cmd click the type layer to obtain a selection.

• In the Edit menu, select Stroke, then size and color

HTH,

To 'rasterize' is to turn into pixels what was once a vector path. In other words, the type is no longer a 'floating' layer, but merges with the pixels present on the layer.

you need to do it, because only then can you apply all other effects/filters that can be used on a normal (rasterized) layer.

BTW, you could also give your type a stroke using the layer styles tab in the Layers palette.

HTH,

gerard
