Anyone here taken the ACE product proficiency exam for Photoshop? If so...How hard did you think it was on a scale of 1 to 10 and are there practice tests anywhere out there? I'm pretty sure I can pass it, but I'd like to be sure before I drop the $150... Thanks-- |

I've considered it ... I took the study test and did ok, but I'm like you, and don't want to drop the $150 on it. Be cautious though, it makes you realize that, although you may consider yourself an expert at your particular workflow, you may not be at other aspects of photoshop. I found out the hard way. :D let me (and the rest of the forum) know what you decide to do - |

My fear exactly...I know how to do pretty much everything I need to do w/ it...but I'm sure there will probably be stuff on the test that I've never had experience w/ because I haven't needed to use those features....I guess my best bet is to buy the "classroom in a book" that Adobe publishes to fill in any gaps, take a practice test and then go for it...It can't be that hard...Can it ?

yeah, I took the one for PS5 and passed. I'd say it's an 8 on the hard scale... problem was the way the questions were worded. A good handful were very ambiguous. Even if I was a creator of PS5, I wouldn't have understood the question. It also test your knowledge of every aspect of PS, from printing, modes, to configuration. That one feature you've never touched or seen may have 5 questions in the exam. (happened to me) Adobe Press no longer creates certification books (at least they didn't for PS6) so finding help is tough. There where a few companies that released study guides for PS, but I didn't look into them much so I cann't state on the quality). Adobe has some practice exams... check their site. and: this place too. DO avoid any braindumps you find though... highly biased or inaccurate. You can find coupons, $50 or so, for ACEs in the some Adobe books, look for those, or if your an educator you can get a 50% discount. Also, wait till the ACE for PS7 comes out (usually a few months after PS7 is released) |

Hey, Thanks for the info...Very much appreciated. I probably will end up waiting for the PS 7 test comes around so I don't end up having to take the test twice...Read something on Adobe's site about needing to retest within 90 days after a new product version comes out to keep your certification active or something. Thanks again. |
