How do you make these bright areas? |

Hello ive seen this done alot and im a noob =) I would like ot know how to make these bright areas in photoshop here is an example http://www.billybussey.com/artwork/blazon.jpg those bright white areas that are around the page how is that done? |

Use a layer that is brighter than the one(s) below, and change Layer-mode to "Color Dodge" on the bright layer. You´ll see how it works, that´s the (very very) basics, lol.... Hope it helps at all... :D

oh, and now that I´m more awake.. :D ..To get that glowing-sensation to it, you can use the airBrush with a bright color on the layer, or gaussianBlur stuff, or whatever.. Just experiment, and you´ll get the hang of it.

You can also try to select that area with the Lasso tool with, oh maybe, 15 to 25 pixels? Then you can Image>Adjust>Brightness/Contrast. Play around with the sliders and it might come out as well.
