Ok Im pretty new to Photoshop so I hope this is not too stupid of a question but is there a way to preview fonts before you use them? I've read the help files and they dont really explain much in this area and its really bugging me. Can someone please help me?

Also, why cant you preview bmp images before you open them too? Im going to look for a plugin for this but just thought I would ask while Im here.

Thanks again all.

Previewing fonts, you have to type something, then scroll the list one by one and watch the fonts change.

As for previewing BMP, I think Photoshop only lets you preview JPG, PSD and some other files.

Third party programs like ACDSee are good for going through images.

That's what I do, just type the text then highlight it. Go up and click the fonts dropdown, and use the up or down keys on the keyboard to scroll through them.
