Hello,
I must say... I am a newbie when it comes to Photoshop, and following tutorials.

Anyways, I found this site which seems to give a good outcome of what I'm looking for (a spiral): http://wwwebmasters.net/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/wwwebmasters/tutorial/frames.pl?id=937&title=Making%20Spirals%20in%20Photoshop

I've done the rectangular marquee on both sides and just can't get both of the shapes to get the twirl effect.

Can anyone give a more detailed step on how to do this effect? Thanks!

hmm...have you made both color-areas on the same layer?..they should be.. And have you made a selection (in the middle i guess) before you twirl it?

Yep, I've made both color areas on the same layer.

What do you mean by:

"made a selection (in the middle)"?

What does it look like when you apply the twirl filter?

Ah.... Another *stupid* not-thinking mistake.

Yep, I deselected the rectangular marquee and voila!

Here it is: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/mspan5/swirl.gif
