Check out this shot of the box for the mask of zorro. See the fire outline around the Z? That's what I'm trying to do. I've tried using Eye Candy 4k's fire filter, but the results generally aren't that good. Any ideas?

well there are many ways you can do that you could just get one z and make the flames cover that whole thing then just add another z on top of that. or you could draw that kinda fire itself with orange>liquified> some red air brush but i think you can find some other ways instead of this |

It that specific case it looks like they did the Z, made a selection. EXPANDED that selection, then did some touching up to make it flame-shaped and well through in some orange and red cloudish looking BG in that little area. . Orrr perhaps they had a Z shape already filled in with that BG and then used the smudge tool (either works) |
