Here's the way to do it:

1.Create a new doc:

Width : 425 pixels
Height : 283 pixels
Mode : rgb
Background : Transparent

2. Create a black layer

3.Type a word (e.g MANETHEREN) in a classical font ( or other ) ( 36 pt here ) ! Text colour must be white !

4.Duplicat the «text» layer and select it ( with the magic wand by clicking on the layer ).

5.Spherize the the «text» copy layer ( Filter >> Distort >> Spherize ).
Then fill this layer black ( Edit >> Fill )
You can now mask this layer.

6. We're now gonna work on the white text layer!
Rotate the canvas 90 clockwise( Image >> Rotate Canvas >> 90 CW)
Go to the Filter menu and apply the wind filter( twice if needed ) ( Filter >> Stylize >> Wind

And then it gets ugly.......:rolleyes:
