Broken stone

Ok, I have a stone background and I want to make it look like there is a hole blown through the background and that the stone is crumbled around the edge of the hole....any ideas?

use your laso tool and select a jagged looking section where you want the big hole to be, then delete it out and put a bevel and drop shadow on your stone layer, then you could create a new layer and draw some lines for cracks and shadow them..... you could again use your laso tool and select a little section of the stone in a peble or rock shape, copy it and place it like its falling or breaking off from the main piece of stone. Theres a million things you could do. those are just a couple of ideas i'd try.
