OK so I have seen many tutorials on the web about makein CHROME. But i want to make something more rough like the barrel of a gun or something. I know on this site you have like roughing up the chrome and rough metal but those arent really cuttin it, if anyone has a tut i can folor could you please hook it up!

well that was an example of the texture i wanted, Like a gun barrel, a pipe etc. etc.

Not sure exactly what you're trying to achieve...But I would think w/ some combination of monochromatic noise and blurring and possibly messing w/ the layer modes should get you what u want....If you can find an example of what you're talking about we can get a technique discussion going in this thread.

Not exactly but that looks pretty cool;) . I am just kinda trying to make like a dull rough metallic look. Like chain links, or metal fences.

that was the same thing i was thinking of swoop. you do that with noise>m. blur?????

Ya...and then a channel with noise in it...and lighting effects applied to it to make it look bumpy...turned the mode to overlay and the opactiy down quite a bit to make it really suttle

yeah, I playing with noise and m. blur and got that same type of thing! Swoop thanx for suggesting those filters
