Hey Guys

Oke here's my "problem". I saw this wallpaper a friend was using at his desktop:

geocities.com/RensM2001/2.jpg
(i've cut out the part were this is about)

The originel picture looks like this:

geocities.com/RensM2001/1.jpg

So know i want to know how to do this:D I think they made it Black&White in PS first and did some other stuff (contrast/brightness) and maybe converted it to a vector pic with Flash or something. But i never get a result as nices as this one:(
Does anyone has any tips / ideas ??'

Try pressing F5, it works sometimes for me. But GeoC just sucks. Copy/Paste the url is you want to, that works. And yes its something like that, but a bit different.

Possible solution

Adjust Brightness/Contrast
Posterise image
Make selections using lasso and fill them

Pretty vague, but a bit of experimenting with those things listed above should work

Hint when using Geocities:

POST IT ON A WEBPAGE. Just throw the images on a webpage and post a link to that HTML file. Most people will look at it since people (like me) are too lazy to do the copy and paste bit.

Also sometimes changing the extention to .txt helps buuuuut its usually best to just post the images on a webpage.

Its suppose to help you make the selections of the different shades. You'll have to play with the levels to get the right one.

I'm so cool sometimes!

Heres how i did it:

First, DESATERATE your image! Very important.

Next, Go to Image>Adjust>Brightness/Contrast.
I turned the contract allll the way up, you might wanna play with the brightness settings if you want.

Next, select all the black. Be sure to have 'contiguous' CHECKED on your magic want options (this way when you select black it will select EVERY little bit of black on the entire image)

Next, create a new Channel (go to channel pallet and click the 'create new channel' button the bottom of the pallet) now, deselete your section, and reselect the channel.

NOW go the PATHS pallet and create a new WORK PATH.

Now, CTRL-CLICK the new work path layer. Now go back to the LAYERS pallet and FILL a new layer with whatever color you want (you might have to invert selection, depending on how you did it)

Hope that helps!!
