Hold Shift and right click on a file, and choose Open With...then choose whatever program you want.

Expand on your question: What do you mean it wont open them? What kind of error are you getting? |

I think what H.T.B is saying is that by default, when he clicks the icon, instead of opening in PS, some other program takes over. My rec, is to reinstall PS so that PS overwrites the settings |

In reply to Dark Omen Yeah i had this problem too. There is no need to uninstall Photoshop. Just, if u r using windows, go to My Computer > view > Folder options > and then click on the file types tab. In there, u can change, what progam automatically opens what file extensions. |

Ouch... that may be a diff prob than what MBB and others are talkin' bout. I would still double check your Folder Options : file types (may be under Tools, not View depending on which version of Windows). Make sure Photoshop owns .psd extension. If all else fails, fireshocker may be right-- all y'all may be reinstallin' Photoshop! |

houston texas balla before going through a reinstall you might try trashing the photoshop "prefs" file. Just move it to the recycle bin and then restart photoshop and PS will make a new prefs file |
