hi... i'm new user of photoshop and now have a problem when i follow the tutorial at this site. the tutorial on "Making some nice Chrome Text: Photoshop 6.0 Only..". the problem is, i am not understand what this step mean.. 8. Now lets group all of our effects together once we get them how we want them. To do this go ahead and create a new layer above the text layer. Then make sure the text layer is selected and go to Layer/Rasterize/Type Then link the type layer and the new transparent layer above it and merge the two of them together. Now we have the look of all of our layer effects but you can see now they have disappeared. Good. Now we can click on our type layer and add a New fresh drop shadow to our text and it won't mess any of our old setting up anymore. could anyone here explain to me.... |

Merging the layer with the styles on it with an empty/transparent layer simply leaves the effects in place that you had but now allows you to make other/new style changes to it...

ok now what they have given is........... group all the effect layer........that already you have done ..ok then they have given ...........make transprant layer above the text layer...............ok and group your effect layers with this layer...........ok then rasterised the text layer...............just right click on the layer and click on the rasterize ........and your text layer will convert into a normal layer..........ok now link the text layer with above layer and then go in to the layer menu and select the merge linked layer...........ok now what they have given is when you merge these two layer......your effect layers will disappeared....... but that effect you will get on your text......... and last step is give the drop shadow effect to your text layer..... now this is the explanation of their para........... just try out this 1 and i hope this will work for you man. abhi |
