The pen tool is, in my opinion, one of the best tools in PS and Illustrator. Tornupsidedown's tutorial was quite good. I would suggest finding an existing image with lots of curves and practice matching them with the bezier curve. It took me a couple of days and plenty of percussive maintenance to the ole' keyboard.....but I must say, it's well worth the effort! Here is my version of the very basic bezier curve: 1. activate the pen tool (P) 2. left click at the start of your curve and drag in the direction you want your curve and let go 3. click where you want the curve to end and drag in the opposite direction and let go. 4. you'll notice that each node has a "barbell" with nodes on the end. 5. slect the selection direction tool (A) and adjust the nodes at the ends of the barbells in any direction to fine tune and move the nodes at the ends of the curve to place them exactly where you want them. Practice this for a while, once you have it down....start adding nodes and more curves and soon it will be second nature. Later, Justin *PS-can you say BREADFAN! |
