anyone know of a tool or anything that lets you draw what i can only best describe as "wonky lines". let me explain. imagine you had a perfect straight line from point a to point b. then, by hand you slowly traced over it. the line you draw by hand would be imperfect and slightly, for want of a better word "wonky". i want to create lines like this in photoshop but can't figure out how. any ideas? thanks |

The pen tool would be the way to do that. Just select it and click two points, then you can use the handles to 'wonkify' the lines.

When you click to make your second 'point', hold down the mouse button and move the mouse around. A handle will appear and you can see how you can manipulate them to bend the line. Experiment with the other pen tools to add points, and convert the points to different types. You select the other types of pen tools by hold down the button on the original pen tool button. Then a menu will fly out and show the other types of pen tools.

Try this for some random wonkiness: Create a new image, 500 X 500 grayscale. Hit the "D" key to return colors to default. Filter---»Render---»Clouds. Save as a grayscale PSD document. Now return to the document that has straight lines you want to wonkify on their own layer. Select all, go to Filter---»Distort---»Displace. Leave the parameters at theur defaults. After clicking OK, navigate to the "Clouds" image you just saved and use that for the displacement. If you need to, you can clean up the edges or thin the lines out with Gaussian Blur, Levels and/or Curves. Insta-wonk! |

A trend is not a thing to be predicted. It is a thing to be recognised during and after its existence. 3 or 4 people doesn't constitute a trend. |
