These are two images that I ran across and saved be cause I wanted to know how they were done.

On the microsoft image i want to know how the squares on the right are done.

The dns.jpg looks like a clipping path was used but thats as much as I know :confused:

first one looks a bit like the tiles filter has been used on a simple gradient, then some of the tiles erased.

To get a similar effect as the second image has.....have your image on one layer, create a new layer, fill that layer with some color, and have white as your background color in your color palete, then use the Tile filer on that layer and check the box that says Fill Space with background color(not exactly that, but something similar)...So now you should have a bunch of separated boxes with white inbetween them....now use your magic wand and select one of the boxes...then go to Select Similar and press Delete...it will take out the boxes and leave the white, its not exactly like the example but its similar.
