Action works on alternate plays, why?

Hey there,
I have created a action that creates a highlighted chrome letter. I press play and it works fine. Then if i close everything down, press play again it will not work (the finished product is way off)... then if i play it again it works fine. Very strange.
Its a pretty simple action, Anyone have any clue as to why it only works alternatly?
