Okay, "slicing". I have PS6 and the PS6 bible. But I'm still at a loss. If I have created a 778x600 pixel interface image, how do I or PS6 go about saving each slice as a seperate image? i.e.: buttons with rollover efx and so forth Yes, I'm new..... Please don't kill me.... |

You need to do that in imageready. Drag out a grid of guides ( the little blue lines) in the way you want your image to be sliced then go to Slices > Create slices from guides. Then you can click on each slice with the slice selection tool and choose each images compression settings. Then go to File > Save Optimized As and save your images. You can either have it do the HTML for you, or just dump the pictures into a directory.

Deker, Okay, I'm pretty sure I can get that part down. Now, here's another question. Should I or CAN I slice each button that is included in the interface and create seperate buttons for mouseovers for it? Make sense? |

Yes, you can do that in imageready. It will even generate the mouseover code for you. Just set your guides around each 'button' and slice it. Unfortunately, I've never used the mouseover code in imageready so i don't know how to do it without going in there and figuring it out. I usually use dreamweaver or do it by hand for mouse overs. Take a look at the help files though, I'm sure it will explain how to do the mouse overs.
