align?

This is a dumb Q.. but I can't figure it out.. I've 2 layers in my psd file. The top layer is an image and the bottom layer is my background. I want to align the top layer to the center of my background layer. When I've the top layer selected the align options are shaded out and I can't select them. Any one know how to fix this problem?

you need to link the layers before you can align them.

however, if you want to merely centre the contents of the top layer to the underlying area, do the following in sequence with the top layer selected:

ctrl-a, ctrl-c, ctrl-v
