can someone direct me to a fairly advanced masking of images tutorial. I can't quite get it on my own because i don't know where to look ! stupid reason but you guy's know more about it than me basically i wanna take two images and make them fade into one another in the middle of the two images. but i don't know how it's done using masking layers :'( |

Look on the layers tab. See the three icons on the bottom? The one on the left is the channel mask button. Put the layers you want to fade together one on top of the other. While the top layer is selected press the channel mask button. Another box appears beside the little layer image and a little icon beside the little eye on the left appears. Make sure that icon is showing before you continue. Select the gradient tool and have a white to black gradient selected and draw a gradient from left to right. That should conceal part of the top layer. Helpful?

I made a channel masking tutorial a while back.... it will show you the basics... http://cbutts.com/masking1 Past that one of the best teacher for learning about masking if to go: > HELP and search the help files for "masking"... adobe put in a pretty good description in the help files. |
