http://www.teamphotoshop.com/forum/vbforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2805&highlight=layer+mask I generally use a layer mask.... Have a layer floating over another layer..... select the top layer and click the Quickmask icon on the bottom of the layer pallet. That will create another icon on the layer in the layer pallet.... the icon on the right is the mask. Click on it and then select the gradient tool. Set the gradient tool to Forground to background and hit the "D" key. Now simply drag your gradient tool from one side of your image to the other. See the result?... whatever you do with the "Mask" selected ONLY effects the mask.... you can paint on it... you can run filters on it.... everything... Play with it. |
