Need to make the colour of my text the oppsite colour that it is on top of.

i did pick a colour, but lets just say i have an image in layer 1 and black text overlaying the image in layer 2, how would i get the text to display the negative colours of the image in layer 1

then Ctrl + I to invert it and get its opposite color...
well, you're description is vague.. but i think that's what u want

edit.... damn u posted while i did :D

ok.. set the layer mode to difference.. should do the trick
