There is probably a simple answer to this, but I cant figure it out. I'm trying to add a few line dividers on a web site, but I want to fade both edges of the line so that they 'bleed' into the website background. Ive tried feathering, etc., but cant seem to get the result i want. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Sounds like you could just use a large eraser. Using the Paintbrush tip so that it is feathered a little. Try using the 200 brush or something like that. Post an image and we may be able to help you better.

You can use the layer mask. add layer mask to the layer and then use the gradient tool to fade the lines |

Use a layermask on the "stripes-layer" and go at it with the gradient tool. A very fast (not to good way of showing it) pic to show how... P-man |

Mickael, gotta make you a buddy...:D Got your message. Understand perfectly. Dansk, eh ? Pendt att se en en granne här, finner jeg också. And if you're here often, we will meet again, 'cuz I'm here almost everyday a couple of times. Just is a pitty that there isn't so many people here at the same time. While I've been in the forum it has been at the most 5 other in here at the same time. Would be fun if more people could find their way here and this forum come to be almost a "live" forum, if you get my drift... Cya... P-man |

Very easy, take your brush (looks very good with 1 px brush) In the options menu of the brush is an option Fade: ... steps Put eg. 80 in there, press shift and make a horizontal line with your brush |

Thanks a lot -- the layer mask works, but I like changing the brush dynamics b/c it's a lot faster. I really do appreciate it guys. I do, however, have one more question, and I feel weird because these are questions regarding basic tools, but I'll still ask: >> Are there any options to set in order to draw a 'broken' or 'dotted' line with the pencil or line tool? Thanks for your time.. |

Right or dubbelclick your brush, move the slider of spacing to eg. 200% make a line and there you go |
