1) should work if you are selecting something with a marquee or lasso tool 2) you cant choose a color, you have to move the sliders until you like the color it makes your image 3) i dont really know what you mean |

1) -A- if you want to delete ALL of the contents of a layer, CTR+A then delete. -B- If you want to delete just a portion of the contents of a layer, make a selection around it (rectangle, lasso.... whatever) -C- If you wan't to delete stuff from a layer, you can also use the "eraser" 2) To choose a specific color, click on your forground color prior to going into Hue/Saturation. Select the color you are trying to match, and write down or remember the H, S, B numbers. The when you go into the Hue/Saturation dialog.... just plug in the digits. 3) Ok there is a little confusion with what you are asking and 2 answers might serve here. There are "Styles" (layer effects) and there are "textures" (patterns) Here's how to save both. -A- "Layer styles" (aka "layer effects") just apply the styles you wan't to a layer.... and with that layer selected in the "layers Pallet" Go: >Window >Show Styles In the styles pallet click the tiny "right pointing" arrow..... and select "New Style"....Name it and you can apply it to anything at any time. Groovy Baby! -B- "Textures" Make the pattern you want to save, CTR+A Then >Edit >Define Pattern Name it and apply it to anything at any time. Groovy Again! Hope this helps. |

To apply that to the text 1) Type some text on a new layer 2) On your text layer, select the "Magic Wand" tool, and proceed to select everything that is NOT text. Click anywhere outside of the text, then hold down your shift key, and select any areas inside of text, such as inside "O's" and "B's" 3) When you are sure you have everything selected that is NOT text, click on the layer where you have your finished lightning picture. 4) Hit "Delete" (Don't be scared, yes, it's going to disappear) 5) Hide your text layer (choose the little "eye" beside the layer) 6) Double-click the lightning layer 7) when your layer styles box pops up, choose a stroke and a drop shadow. |

I grew myself a 3rd arm for the sole purpose of keeping it on the CTRL + ALT + Z keys so I can constantly "UNDO". I'm a nut for the undo thing. I have PS set to keep 50 history states also. If only I could make Photoshop recognize a new shortcut, that'd be great. I'd make it so that every time I blinked, it would undo my previous action. That would be GREAT!
