Several ways of doing this in Photoshop 6. 3 ways right off the top of my head.... 1. Make a new layer. Use the magic wand tool and click in the empty layer. Then on the menu on top of the screen, go to edit>stroke and you can set the options in there to make a border. Be sure to make the stroke "inside" the selection. 2. make a new layer. Use the rectangular marquee tool, and anywhere on screen drag it around to the desired size/shape of the border. Then use the above method of edit>stroke to create it. 3. Make your foreground color on your two color choices white. Go down to the vector tools on the toolbar. Just below the text tool button, there's a "rectangular tool" button. Select it and make a white box in the desired shape of the border that you are wanting. Then on top of the screen, go to layer>layer style>stroke. Adjust the stroke options to the desired shape/size/color you want. Finally, on the layers palette, you will see a tab that says "normal" with an arrow pointing down. Click that tab and select "multiply". This will turn the inside white of the box you made to total transparent. There are even MORE ways to make borders, but these are the most obvious and easy. |
