Hi, y'all. New here, 'nd liking it. I've got a problem, searched http://www.google.com for a solution but don't seem to find any. Now, here it is. I know the basic's of making actions, but would like to make them with stops for choices to make, like..."Stop - choose size...-choose color" and so on. Would also like to make it work with instructions so one can use my actions not depending on what language I use and so forth. (Is kind of "ennoying" when actions fail to work beacause of me being a swede...) So is there anyone with tips of instructions, manuals, tutorials or anythin' at all... Please send me a personal message aswell as answering to this post if you have time and feels like putting in that effort... P-man |

Well, as far as inserting a stop, thats simplt click the "right pointing" arrow on the actions pallet and select "insert stop" It will pop a dialog when you select "insert stop" in that dialog you just type in whatever you want the user to know. Here I've inserted a stop that tells the user to select the forground color they wish to use. Notice the "Allow continue" checkbox at the bottom of the dialog. If you are using it at the beginning of an action to instruct the user of something they MUST do before using the action DO NOT check that check box. By not checking the "allow continue" checkbox you will give them only 1 option when the stop alert comes up. "Stop" meaning they will have to start the action again AFTER they have changed what you instructed them to change. Then they can start playing the action AFTER the stop. If the "allow continue" checkbox is checked the stop alert will have 2 options.... "Continue" and "Stop".... I often use this to Give myself credit for an action I created. Lastly, you can also turn on the little thing that resembles a "dialog box" beside action sections that have "settings" to pop that dialog and allow user intervention. There's a crash course, now.....just start creating actions and see where you screw up..... then post a more "direct" question...once you know what you don't know. Hope this helps. |
