Hello Peeps! The question I have is open to anybody who can help. I have been using PhotoShop products for the past few years. And the following problem has got me puzzled.

I am using PhotoShop 6

I was making banners and graphics for my website. I don't know exactly what I did, but while making a new banner, I tried adding Text like I have for years. I clicked on the Type Tool and set the font size, but, instead of the text cursor showing up in the banner all I got was a dot.

I no longer am able to add Text to anything new, but when opening up recent banners I made, there is no problem using the Text Function. I tried looking at the old setup I used for older stuff, and to no avail, I cannot add text.

If anybody can tell me how to "Reset" the PhotoShop Program to once again be able to add text, or if somebody could please tell me what has went wrong (assuming I accidently set something wrong) could you please let me know? Thank You.

I have already "Reset" everything that PhotoShop lets me "Reset" such as "Tools" and "Preferances" so, this problem is driving me nuts! The last thing I used were "filters" from Flux (Spiderweb) and Eye Candy 4000. And then this text problem started.

Anyway, I hope somebody can tell me how to fix this so I don't have to re-install the program.

Aleister Crowley Here, I'm back!!!

Hey, Utopian23, I just wanted to personally thank you for helping me fix this problem. That link to http://www.planetphotoshop.com
really helped. It was driving me nutz!!

NOTE: While it did reset the Adobe Preferences, I then reopened that Logo I was making, and immeadiately it returned to the corrupted state. So, instead or re-installing, I simply repeated the process and tossed the original logo in the Trash Bin.

Now, all seems to be back to normal. Again Thank You Utopian23!!!

And to those responsible for this forum, I say "Hat's Off To Team PhotoShop!" Great Forum, Great Site!!! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to wipe the "brown" off of my nose! ;)
