Taken from the Adobe Photoshop HELP files: To create a custom pattern: 1 Make a rectangular selection around the part of the image you want to use as the pattern, or you can use the entire image. Note that large images may become unwieldy. 2 Choose Edit > Define Pattern, or choose New Pattern from the pop-up palette menu in the options bar for the paint bucket or pattern stamp tools, or in the Layer Style dialog box when Texture or Pattern Overlay is selected in the Styles panel. 3 Enter a name for the pattern in the Pattern Name dialog box. The pattern you defined is repeated as tiles within the selection. If you want to reuse patterns, you can create a library of defined patterns. To define a pattern for use with the pattern tool: 1 Use the rectangle marquee tool () on any open image to select an area to use as a pattern. Feather must be set to 0 px. 2 Choose Edit > Define Pattern and enter a name for the pattern. 3 Deselect the rectangle. Note: If you are using a pattern from one image and applying it to another, Photoshop converts the color mode. |

Listen, i was not attempting to be sarcastic in any way. Had I wanted to be sarcastic, I would have called you stupid for not even attempting to read your help files. If you care to disagree with me further, I will not hesitate to call you stupid. |

You got your answer, Mattboy wasn't being sarcastic, stevie was in fact the one being sarcastic by saying 'k whatever' to matt and probably rolling his eyes while typing it, so there you go. That sums up the thread and we don't need to say anything else!
