hey i need to apply an effect to a picture for a project but i cant seem to find a way of doing it in PS...basically i have a house which needs to look as if it was sketched by hand in black and white for a letterhead...i have tried all the filters in PS but none come close to the desired effect...any ideas?... |

use the search feature on this forum and search for "sketch" I uploaded an action not long ago that will do exactly what you are looking for. There is also a post or two on here where I explained the steps involved |

in your preferences in photoshop you can set how many "history" events you want it to remember, but that takes up resources. If what you want to undo isn't in the history pallet, you can't undo it. To install the action: create a folder (named "downloaded actions") inside the photoshop6 folder. Unzip and place the action file inside that "downloaded actions" folder. Now launch photoshop, go to the actions pallet and click the little "right pointing" arrow for the pallet flyout menu and select "load actions". Navigate to the folder you created and select the action file. (Now that said, I wanted to say, You don't HAVE to create another folder, you could put it in the actions folder already in the folder system inside the Photoshop folder. I just like to know if it is a preset, custom made by me, or a downloaded action.) |

ok well i have managed to make the action work - thanks - but it just turns the pic gray with black outlines...is there a way to have all white with black outlines? (bearing in mind it will be a letterhead on white paper) ....also how do i get rid of your watermark?...i understand nuthin is for free but whats the point if we cant actually use the action?!... cheers again |

MAke sure your colors are black and white. I'm not sure why it is giving you a gray background... I downloaded it and used it just to check it and it gave me a result just like the result shown in the thread where you downloaded it. That watermark is just a layer, delete it. |
