just trying to follow this from a tutorial but it just wont work... You can feather selections creating an angelic effect. Simply make the selection and choose Select>Feather ( Ctrl + Alt + D ) and input the desired amount. As you can see in the image to the left, this creates the feeling of innocence, this effect is used widely around the web. keep getting the error message: Warning: No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible. What the hell are they going on about?!... |

It just means that you won't see the little animated dotted line around your selection, because it has gone out of the boundaries of the image dimensions. Just press ok and continue with the tutorial. You still have the selection there, you just don't see the little dancing line. If you enter a value of 1 when feathering the selection, you should still be able to see the little selection line, and you will figure out what it is talking about. But basically just press ok and continue with the tutorial. It's just a warning. |

Fill it with a color. Use the paint bucket tool and fill the selection with a color. Or press ALT + Backspace to fill with the selected foreground color. Or CTRL + Backspace to fill with the background color. Then you will see what it's talking about. |

Doin it this way gives the reverse effect...like light shining out of someone instead of looking lik its a ring around them.... |

Post the tutorial you are trying to do and we might be able to help. I can't really understand what you're doing wrong.
