Working on a mosaic with sublimation with several different tile sizes but with each mosaic using only one size. I need to create grout lines in the image to separate the pieces for individual printing. Having a real brain cloud on this one. Thanks Alex |

I'm not sure what you are saying. Can you expand a little on what you are telling us? Perhaps post a link to what you have achieved.... tell us how you would like it to be. |

Okay, I'll try to describe this as best I can... First, I have the image ready to print...kinda large, 300 res 25 x 25 inches 150 meg or so. I want to break the image up and print the pieces into 4 x 4 " segments that when assembled as actual tiles on a cement board substrate with grout lines that are either hairlines or they could be up to 1/8 " thick. the continuity of the image is maintained. The wall I've hit is having enough bleed over each individual tile transfer without affecting the continuity of the image. This is not as simple as just cutting on the grid. One option I would be okay with is the larger grout line (1/8) that would give me 1/16 bleed all around the square tiles for proper registration. I have heard of a simple click program in another software package but much prefer PS. I use 6.0 btw If I've eluded you again, let me know... Thanks Alex |

Ahh, ok! I see where you are going now. what I don't see if why you want "bleed"... trimming ANY of the image kills the continuity of the image. I think you would be best served, Setting up guidelines like the tiles would be. (as if the guidelines were your "grout") and then making selections.... copy, new document, paste.... for each tile. It seems to me it isn't going to matter how thick the space between the tiles is but rather exactly what size the tiles themselves are. Am I understanding you correctly? |
