hey i was wondering if anyone could give me an opinion as to what the best way to do a letter "O" in a paintbrush style would be? A very similar example of what i need to do is the Lucent Technologies circle. I need a brush-type effect. Also, there's a tutorial that i saw long ago that shows you how to do like a cricle of circles (more like an oval of circles) and you can like angle it out and whatnot. If anyone knows where i can get a tutorial like that please let me know. Thanks ahead of time...

Make a square image Get a ratty edged brush (one of the brushes that isn't a circle or a square) and paint a horizontal line while holding shift. Now go >filter >distort >polar coordinates "rectangle to polar" should be your selection. That will make an O with painted looking ends. To make the O oblong or skewed start with something other that a perfectly square document. |

after the circle is made you can skew it >edit >transform >skew OR like I said in the above post... start with a canvas that is NOT perfectly square. The "polar coordinates" filter uses the shape of the rectangle (i.e. your canvas or selection) to get its starting point. try it on a 5 inch X 5 inch canvas and then try it on a 10 inch X 5 inch canvas |
