Someone Help! When working with large file (150mb) I get a error that says a virtual memory error has occured. Photoshop gets shut down. I can repeat the error every time. I get the error when resizing or applying a filter so far. Any thoughts? |

Its crashing because it has no memory, either RAM or virtual memory to work with. Virtual memory is hard-drive space. You must go to edit>preferences>plug-ins and & scratch disks. You will probably have to allow Photoshop to use more of your hard-drive(s) than you currently are allowing it to. Also right below this section is "memory and image cache". Allow Photoshop to use more of your RAM as well, if it isn't already using it. My real suggestion would be to buy as much RAM as you can afford right now. Its very cheap right now and makes all the difference in the world with Photoshop. Such as not crashing when trying to work with enormous images like you are. |
