you might try the action exchange on the adobe site, there are tons of actions there for several versions. Did you download the one on this site and try it in 5.5? I wont say it will work... but it might. |

I've gone to Adobe, no luck...they only have cheap ones that'll only make ONE kind of texture...which really sucks. I'd upgrade to 6.0, but Windows 95 doesn't support it. I'd upgrade to Windows 98, but my computer slows down way too much. It's already too slow just with 95. When I say slow, i mean slow(166mhz, 16 MB ram) And yes i've tried downloading the actions they made here, and like they said '6.0 ONLY!'..and they were right cuz it didnt work.

Eeeek! 166mhz, 16mb ram! With extremely cheap pcs out there right now going for $300 or under (you won't need any extra monitor/mouse/etc.), ya need an upgrade! |

Exactly *cheap* is the right word, lol Alot of my relatives went for those kinds of deals and the computers just dont last. They always crash for some reason, either that or freeze every 30 minutes =( Mines slow, but its good quality, hehe =) |

The problem I see here is that "Random Texture" and "Action" are two concepts that are rather opposite from each other. Random is just that, random. Actions are meant to to be used to do something the same way, over and over and over. Random textures can easily be created manually if you start with Render---»Clouds (or Difference Clouds). Then, just start playing from there. Even if you incorporate Rendering Clouds into an Action, the randomness generated will always be of a similar type, because of the very nature of the repeatability for which one would use an Action in the first place. Experiment and find some of your own technques...once you are somewhat able to predict the outcome of filter results, and plan for them, textures are easy to create manually, and they can be radically different each time. If you want them to all have a sameness about them, then fine, create or go download an Action made by someone else. Speaking personally, my artistic conscience wouldn't permit it. |
