Fading grid & checker-like pattern |

How do i make a grid fade out as seen in this picture? http://phar0ah.hypermart.net/aliciascreen.jpg Also, when I try to make a checker pattern it looks like crap, what is the correct way? Thanks! |

for the grid tutorial, www.google.com search for one. there are about 1,000 of them. as for the fading grid, that one looks like it just stops. like they made a whole grid then cut it off with the marquee tool. to make one fade, set your background color to whatever the background color of your image ( what you want it to fade into ) and set the foreground color to a color that is in harmony with the image, but has enough contrast so you can see it fade. ctrl click the grid layer and select the gradiant tool. drage from one side to the other and poof, a fading gridline. |
