I guess you could call that the european style. That's what all the 'cool guys' do. I've never seen a tutorial on doing something like that. It's basically just a style you have to develop. To make it look chaotic, but have a set pattern or style at the same time. Just play around with putting a bunch of images together, cutting parts of them out, etc. check out http://www.greyscale.net for more inspiration. also, pretty much any web site on http://www.linkdup.com |

Yeah dude it's pretty sick. I heard using alot of layers and all types of blending modes are used in this style. I am pretty good at photoshop, but when I look at anything from linkdup.com it makes me feel like a punk in this realm. I'll get at it one day. Hey thanks for your direction and Greyscale is just anoth thorn in my side.

I used to be a lot more into that scene, but after a while, it all starts to look the same, so i kind of got sick of it. I still check k10k.net a couple of times a day, but for the most part it's all just starting to look the same. check out http://www.flipflopflyin.com though. That guy is awesome. |

Hell yeah! Thats awesome. What are some things you have done? I have you seen the little scroll inner windows people are using to an the detachable windows. It's not flash I guess it's DHTML and JScript. Do you know? I guess you are right about being chaotic and everything looking alike. What progs are used to create these styled things.; All photoshop and some 3d stuff right? |

Yeah I've seen the scrollers. Pank uses one at this site, on the front page. And yes, it's all DHTML and Javascript. Although a lot of people are using flash nowadays. Yeah, they mostly use photoshop, some cd programs, and illustrator i would imagine. most of the sites i've done are for other people, so i don't have much creative freedom on them. Just whatever they tell me to do. I have tried the pixel stuff some though, which you can see here: http://www.lookouts.com. (i know the fonts and everything suck on that page, but that wasn't my choice).

Decker, Thats cool ****. I understand about creative freedom. I have been working as a web developer at aifs.com for the last year and a half and I have no creative control. I am starting to work on a music web collaboration with my boy Chan Dresh called soulvendors.com. Trying to make a difference. Have you seen the ecko.com site? I wish I can pull some **** like that. |

jaytillery.... No offense man, but I can't imagine why anyone would want to duplicate anything like that. I can't focus on any specific aspect of that site. It's like one big cluster of junk...I don't know where to start or where to end on that site. |
