I hadn't tryed copy/paste to take vector back and forth from Freehand and Photoshop until reading your post, but it works too!

Great tip!

On thing I did stumble on a while back was, people using microsoft "Word Art". Word Art rarely prints correctly to my imagesetter, but you can copy the word art to the clipboard. Open CorelDraw, paste.... tahdah!, instant "vector" Word art. I tryed that with FreeHand but it doesn't work.

Does it work in Illustrator, Utopian?

I've never had any occasion to try it, Torn, but I'm sure if CorelDraw can make MS word-art into a usable vector object, Illustrator can too. I'm surprised Freehand can't. But then again, I've been known to dig into Mac files using resource editors and change type and creator codes to get stuff to translate properly, and I'm wondering if that'll be the case here, or if I can do it directly.

But, just for fun....if you can: Send me a hunk o' MS word-art. Make it small, export as a couple relevant formats, compress them in their own folder and ship 'em off to me at this address....I'll give it a try.

You've made me curious.
