I'm am complety new to the whole "photoshop" thing. I am learning slowly and starting to pick up on most things. The only problem is I CANT MAKE A SHAPE OUTLINE!!! I know it sounds dumb and probably is but it would greatly speed up my progress if I could make a shape with JUST the outline and no fill. PLEEZ HELP A MORON! IM GONNA RIP OUT MY HAIR!

simple... you've done the first step which is the shape's fill the next simple step is to select the shape and contract the selection to what ever size you want for the outline, let say 3 pixels and hit delete. Steps: 1) ctrl + click the layer to select the shape 2) contract the selection .. select > modify > contract done.. this will be the only help i'll give... aight? peace |

are you talking about using the vector tools? if so...see those three things at the top in the tool options bar? the ones that look like rectangles with stuff in the corners? Click on the middle one. then go to the path's pallet (its behind the layers and channels) and stroke the path. Or pick the little white arrow, right click on the path and stroke it.voila...and outline. |

ok, maybe I need to rephrase the question, lets say i have a transparent background. then I try to draw a circle. My problem is I want the center of the circle to be transparent leaving only the outline.

Well, photoshop does have a help file that it comes with, and a book. Looking up stroke in help would work for you, but its under edit on the top menu choices. You should see stroke towards the middle of those menu choices.

Im completely lost as far as this goes, Im completely new to making web designs and everything. I'm used to another program where you click the style/size of the circle outline and click and drag, and if I want ti filled I use the fill button. Thanks for tryin, I appreciate it. If you know any good tutorials that speak in lehmans terms and/or is at a kindergarden level of learning pleez post it. Once I get the hang of this thing I'll probably be back when I can better understand the help you are giving me.
