Hi everyone. i just registered here, so forgive me any mistakes. please tell me if i do something wrong, thanks. Ok, so i have this problem for a week now. i can't figure out what's wrong. when i try to put text on an image, the text does not appear. even when i try to adjust the font size from 10 to 72, it doesn't make any difference. I tried several fonts, the standard ones and the ones i installed. The text color is in contrast with the background, i am sure. Also, the opacity is set at 100% , but still i can't see anything. the text layer is also on top, so no other layers could possibly top it. however, i can see the text in my layer palette. but not on my image. i don't know if i changed settings by accident, everything seemed to be working fine before and i didn't install any new fonts. i tried to reset my type tool, but with no result. does anyone know how to fix this problem? thanks in advance ! (oh btw, im using Adobe Photoshop CS) |

Maybe your text box is too small? When you select the Text tool, you need to click and drag to make a box where your text is going to be inside. If it's too small, the font will be too large for the text box and not show up. Try making a biiig box. =) Hope that solves your problem, Lansain |

You are exactly right....Lansain. This must be the only problem....that text box is too small....otherwise there is no reason for not displaying the text after resetting the type tool. Mark, www.indovance.com |

The word "big" is relative, really. If your font is pt. 72, you may need an even bigger text box. Here's some pictures. Notice that my font size is small enough for the box, and the color stands out against the background. |

i don't think the problem lays with the box size. it should be large enough to put the text in, i tried several times, but the text won't show up. these are my settings: 1. changed text color to white. 2. created text box. this should be large enough right? (look at how ridiculously small the cursor is.. in red) 3. placed text. as you can see, i only get this tiny line. 4. my layer palette. the selected (blue) layer is my text layer. it's strange really..the word 'text?!?!?!' should appear on the grey background too. |

I have had that same issue before; the way that I found that would apper is by adding text to the first layer if more than one. Sometimes when on a layer that is other than the first for some reason all I can see is the cursor blinking and no text. Hope this helps some, or spawns an idea. Thanks, Phillip |
