Hey everybody, can anybody tell me how this person got this cool background in this signature?http://www.otakuforums.com/attachment.php?s=&postid=10775 Anyhow, I also wanted to ask if any of you have noticed that all the tutorial sites have the same bullsh*t materials such as scan lines, glow effect and etc. Well except for a few such as Teamphotoshop, striding studio and etc. Well, I also wanted to ask if anybody knew about any tutorial sites, books, or whatever that showed you how to make stuff like the background in the signature above, because I haven't gotten much help from those crappy ones, so if you know about any cool stuff that shows you how to make the cool tight stuff please tell me. Thanks to everyone. |

Those type of tutorials aren't crappy, they are just basic. If you are advancing past those, then great. Don't put them down though. I'm sure you thought they were great when you first started. There aren't as many advanced tutorials out there because, frankly, if you are advanced enough to follow an 'advanced' tutorial, then you really shouldn't need any tutorials at all. See what I mean? You might want to pick up a book called "The New Masters of Photoshop" by Friends of Ed. www.friendsofed.com It has more advanced techniques by some of the best online artists out there. I haven't read the book yet, but from what I can tell they aren't step-by-step tutorials, but more just general ideas of how they do things. And if you are an 'advanced' user, then that should be enough. As for your original question, just play with blending modes. There's really nothing difficult about it. Just take a lot of photos and random art that you've done, erase pieces of them, blend them together, and then play with the blending modes. |
