Can anybody tell me about possible conflicts or confusion when switching the same image between Windows XP and Mac OS 9. The image was scanned on the PC (cannon G1 powershot digital camer) at 180 ppi in Adobe Photoshop 5 LE and then moved to the Mac PS6) for imaging. Initially everything seemed to work well but after saving the images and reopening them the saturation and hue were wacko. the images looked awful. What profile to I assign when opening the images on the Mac? 1. Leave as is don't color manage? 2. Assign working RGB (Generic RGB profile) or 3. Assign Profile from the long list of choices in my "Missing Profile Box." On the images that I've copied and saved it doesn't seem to mater. All choices are rotten with red and shocking pink. The same can be said for any document saved in PS 6 that originated on the PC. I transfered them using a zip drive. Any thoughts or suggestions? Rick |

Because of color managment differences and monitor differences, the image is probably going to look a little different. I suggest -Leave as is don't color manage- if you are going to go back to the PC with it.... if not.... let the Mac assign a color profile using colorsync. If this is going to be an ongoing problem for you I also suggest scanning a color key and tweaking the PC color settings to reflect what the mac is showing you. |
