I have this image to print which I need to be 4X6 to fit in a frame. I know how to do this with windows xp printing, this way is NICE using the wizard. You can even get 3 photos this size on a page. Unfortuneately, after all the work I performed on the image in PS6, its ultimately necessary to save it in .psd. Bummer! xp cant read and print .psd using the wizard. I just want to forget converting the image to jpeg because of all the quality that is lost. So my only option is learning the photoshop printing tricks. I want to print the image to a 4X6 without losing any quality. The image is now 1280 X 960 or 17.778 X 13.333. I can resize the width and height by replacing 17.778 with 6. But this makes the width automatically 4.5 which is one half inch TOO LARGE. I tried to use the automate: fit command but the image appears to lose its quality, although i know it hasnt lost resolution. Maybe its just how it appears on screen? Lastly, once I can print the 4X6 using PS6, at that point I'd like to print 2 or 3 pictures on a page. (Like Win XP wizard) If what I need can't be dome in PS6 let me know about any other program that is capable of taking a .psd file and printing it using templates exactly like xp does. Thanks, Ryan Merry Christmas! |

The answer..... use .tif file format. .jpg files have never been thought of as "good" prit graphics. flatten the image, SAVE AS and THEN save the thing as a .tif fil....no quality loss, and importable into anythihng... also xp print wizard will print it. |
