I might suggest a couple of things if you can't find a tut: You could actually select the part you want to change; then adjust curves, color balance or hue/saturation (really pretty much any function in Photoshop). Be careful though - if you adjust a section too much it will have a harsh edge when you deselect it (feathering helps this . . . ) You can also adjust individual layers as well. Think of it like you are fixing red-eye on a baby, by selecting just the eye, you can adjust the colors of the eye - not the baby. If the selection is tricky; this site has a couple of tutorials that will show how to use Quick-Mask and other tricks to get it right. I know the answer is exactly what you wanted - but I hope it helps!:D |

Ok, I use one method alot... Open the image you with to change the color of part of. *note the more subtle the color changes in the image, the harder it is to isolate "just" that one tone....but it CAN be done* Follow with me: IMAGE>ADJUST>REPLACE COLOR Make sure the radio button for "selection" is selected (not image) not drag the "replace color" dialog out of the way so you can see your image and select the little eyedropper in that pallet that is farthest to the left.... THEN simply "click" on the color you wish to change to another color. You will see the image thumbnail in the "replace color" dialog turn white to reflect the areas of the image you have selected... Use the "fuzziness" slider to adjust the selection to turn all the areas you want to change the color of white in that thumbnail view. *note that at times you might have to take a little bit at a time and do this several different times to get ALL of a color value.* Now that you have your selection: I selected the red in the body of this inflatable: All you have to do is adjust the Hue/Saturation/Lightness at the bottom of the "replace color" dialog with preview checked and you will see your results applied to your image: |

Stupid OT reply.... Ever since "Mumford" started appearing on the boards I frequent, whenever I see that name, I get a mental image of Billy Mumy, during his "Lost in Space" years. And I giggle quietly to myself for even remembering that show and how he looked. |

if you would like a more artsy - manual approach, use a new layer in 'color' layer mode, then just paint over stuff with any brush in any color you want. Otherwise, follow these folks' advice, it's always good. |
