I am very new to Photoshop. In working with some slides I found I am "stuck" with certain corrections I made in "variations" and with the "unsharp mask". Everytime I open the program now these changes are applied to each image. I have tried 1. Preferences/General/Reset Palette Locations to default, 2. Reset all tool both to no avail. Please advise. Also, is it possible in LE to straighten a slide that is not aligned correctly in it's sleeve? Thank you much, it will be great if I can just find the basic default again. Dak |

Photoshop automatically remembers the last setting you used on all of the filters. The only way I know to reset them is to delete you preferences file. Which will reset everything to the way it was when it was installed basically. Is that what you mean? As far as rotating slides you should be able to rotate the image. I don't know if it's the same in LE, but in regular photoshop you can press "CTRL + T" to transform the selection, and then just use the handles to rotate it the way you need to. If that doesn't work in LE, then just look around in the menus for something like "Rotate Image" or something like that. Again, I don't know exactly what it would be since I've never used LE. Hope that helps. If not, let us know. |

It's when I import a new slide to work with that the old setttings are kicking in from a previous image. How can I access my prefence file to delete it? Thanks for responding, so nice to talk with someone that knows Photoshop!!! Dak |

By slide do you mean a physical slide with a little white border that you put on a projector, or is it some kind of term used in LE? Your preferences file would be in the Photoshop LE directory. Probably C:\program files\adobe\photoshople\ or something like that. Then look for a preferences file or directory. Again... LE is strange territory for me! |

A physical kodachrome slide that has been scanned on our Polaroid Sprintscan 35 Plus scanner then opened in Photoshop. My husband is an artist who has worked as both a printmaker and currently as an oil painter. I am scanning slide images of his work to use as flyer material but there is some degradation of the image as I move from program to program which is where photoshop is so handy. I think it's odd that Photoshop saves corrections used on one image and then defaults them to all future images. I will look in my directory to delete them. BTW, rotate canvas has an "arbitary" menu that worked great for leveling the slide, thank you! |

Yes, it is odd that it automatically applies it to the images. In regular photoshop, it saves the settings of sliders and so forth, but it doesn't automatically apply them. Maybe there is a setting in LE to turn that 'feature' off.
