http://216.118.121.28/newbackround.gif is the backround I am thinking of using for my new design using Photoshop 6 Now my questions is I did this yesterday, but I am trying to touch it up a bit with a few filters and layers. My question is how do I do that. As Photoshop will nt allow me to update with filters or layers?? Something I did?? I don't know If you where to try it you would see you can't use any filters. I am also trying to view the actions but apparently I must have deleted them as they are not there. Cause I might want to make this backround again so if you could help me thanks cya |

Ok, the problem is that is a .gif image did you save the original file that had all the layers ? it should be the same name with a .psd extension If you want to add to that gif.. you will first have to go IMAGE>MODE> and change it from "indexed" to "RGB" |

ewww, "bummer" sorry dude... if you didn't save it ... it didn't get saved. In the future... when you make your new document... go ahead and save it "right then" as a .psd. as you work along; do a ctr+S every so often to ensure you don't lose your precious work. THEN... as a general RULE...... always..... before you "save for web" or "save as" or whatever to get your web graphic. CTR+S to save a version of your graphic with all the layers and effects still intact. "save early, save often and save EVERYTIME before your ASS leaves the chair"...... <-- I preach this at work |

Click the botton at the very bottom of the PS toolbar... it will launch imageready.... imageready will let you "slice" the image AND it will produce the HTML with the tables already ready already...... :D whew! ....and read the help files... ;) |

Sam... In the time it takes for you to open this forum, click on the post, click the reply button, type a request for more explanation, wait for Chris to read it, decide if he wants to respond, then you coming back to read it again....you could've:::ahem:::read the Help files from the CD.....TWICE. They're there for a reason. And, they will probably be more clear and comprehensive then any answer you're likely to get here. If you do this and have enough knowledge to come back and ask for help with a specific part of the process, there are plenty of us here willing to clarify. It'll show that you have a basic understanding of what is going on. What you're asking is kind of like asking someone for help on a trigonometry question....but prefacing the request with something like "oh, and by the way, could you explain these multiplication table thingies to me?" You need to build a foundation, then expand and fine tune your knowledge. |
