Want to transparent a gif and still have that nice glow

Hi can anyone help me? I have tried every way but still...
I have a big black letter and have a glow around it. I want to move it to flash and don't want to lose any of the glow. Every time I tried the glow gets messy.

Can some one help me with my little problem?

you can set something in flash,i heard someone said that.

Don't use gif's, unless the image is straight edged, if its got soft edges and you want transparency, with good image quality then the only way is to make them into PNG's. they're larger than gifs and jpegs but unless its a huge image it shouldn't be bad.
